Since Priority Mail® supplies are the packaging of choice for families preparing care packages for service members overseas, the USPS® has created a "Mili-kit" based on the items most frequently requested by the military.

The kit contains:

Three(3) 

  

each of flat rate boxes O-FRB1 and O-FRB2


Two (2) each of Cube boxes OBOX4 and OBOX7


Address labels - Label # 228 10 each


One roll of Priority Mail tape


15 customs forms with envelopes.


The kit may be requested by calling 1-800-610-8734 (Packing Supply) and:

Choose your language (1 is English, 2 is Spanish).
Choose option 1 (it states it is for Express Mail®, Priority Mail or Global Express Guaranteed® products).
When you reach a live agent, request CAREKIT04.
Please allow 7-10 days for delivery.

Treats to Send:

 

 

  • Letters

  • Pictures

  • DVDs (Mini videos of yourself, family ~non-obscene of course~ are a great treat!)

  • Drawings from the kids

  • Music, CDs

  • Cocao

  • Cider mix

  • Crystal Light Singles

  • Gatorade  or Kool-aid singles

  • Mugs

  • Screw Cap hot thermos/mugs with a latch- so they can hook them to their belts for climbing ladderwells

  • Microwavable foods: Mac and Cheese, Soups, etc.

  • Candy: Mints, Lifesavers, etc.

  • Chocolates, if they won't be in a melting situation

  • Twin size sheet sets and pillows, you can add iron ons to them- photos and so on.

  • Patchwork quilts, where the patches have been decorated by the kids, or have iron on transfers of photos, messages, etc.

  • Maglights and mini flashlights with multi colored lenses for blackouts and so on.

  • Gerber multitools

  • Gerber or Benchmade Knives

  • Hand held sewing machines for making repairs to uniforms

Keep in mind not to send aresols if possible, and don't send anything obscene. And note that whetever you send is subject to inspection, so be sure to send only thing sthat you would want others to see or know about.
